SUMMARY

I am a Lecturer  at Egerton University, Faculty of Health Sciences, department of Nursing. My career objective is to be an expert in clinical interventions, teaching and research in line with the Vision, Mission and Objectives of Egerton University, my aim is to pursue scholarly excellence and generate and disseminate knowledge and skills to students and healthcare workers through training and mentorship to help in mitigation of disease and suffering.

I have special interest in Simulation-Based Medical Education with the aim of improving skills of Health-care workers in general. I am currently the Co-odinator of simulation-Based activities in the faculty of Health Sciences; through collaborations, i have participated in successiful  projects to include; Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EMoNC) project by the Liverpool Tropical school of medicine which sponsored training and certification of MBCHB final year students on EMoNC and equipped the skills laboratory at the faculty; Helping Babies Breathe(HBB) and CPAP projects through Rotary international Global grant project which facilitated training of more than 90 health care workers in Nakuru, this projects also helped in equipping the skills laboratory at FHS and opening one at the Nakuru County Hospital. This was achieved by the assistance of organized teams from Israel Universities and USA (UNMC, University of Utah)

Am currently co-ordinating the “Simulation on wheels and water safety project’ which is a partnership between; The Embassy of Israel, Nakuru County Government, Egerton University, Technion , Center for Global Engagement(Technion), Israel Institute of Technology and Mashav aimed at training health care workers and CHVs on life saving skills
